In the spring of 2020, I decided it was time to leave the classroom and focus on teacher support and tutoring students.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I taught 14 years in public school and twelve year in Catholic school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the middle of this, I took a year off to work as a Curriculum Materials Developer with the SEPUP program at Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I ran a web directory for Berkeley businesses, <a href=\"http:\/\/ShopInBerkeley.com\">ShopInBerkeley.com<\/a>, which provided free and low-cost web pages for Berkeley businesses. I started in 2000, but in 2009 I decided there were enough other directories out there that I could &#8220;retire&#8221; the site. There&#8217;s still a skeleton of the site, but most pages have &#8220;redirects&#8221; that take people to appropriate web pages instead of my old pages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I live in the Davis, CA, but lived in Berkeley for most of my life. The Bay Area is definitely my home, but I&#8217;m learning to appreciate Davis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My <strong>amazing<\/strong> wife Katie joined life with me in 2012. I have one step-daughter through my marriage with Katie, one from a previous marriage, as well as a wonderful granddaughter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before teaching I worked in food service management before teaching, which gave me the opportunity to work managing food concessions at Super Bowl XIX, the World Cup, and the Olympics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 2009 I started a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meetup.com\/SF-Bay-Area-Geology-Hiking\/\">geology-focused hiking group<\/a> that included one-day and multiple-day outings. When we moved to Davis, my daily hikes have stopped, but others in the group may start more after COVID-19 restrictions end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I manage a few web sites for local groups, including <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bpfp.org\/\">Berkeley Partners for Parks<\/a> and the Berkeley Alumni Association (the public schools, not the university), and <a href=\"http:\/\/ncnaapt.org\">Northern California\/Nevada section of the American Association of Physics Teachers<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My brother, who is also a teacher, <a href=\"https:\/\/calvin.trampleasure.net\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/calvin.trampleasure.net\/\">writes a blog on his bicycle racing life <\/a>in the 1970&#8217;s and &#8217;80&#8217;s.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I&#8217;m a <a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\">WordPress<\/a> convert: WordPress provides excellent back-end functionality for web sites, and these days it&#8217;s all I use for web site design. I&#8217;m humored that the initials for WordPress are the same as the word processor I still occasionally use: <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/WordPerfect\">WordPerfect<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Resume<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/trampleasure.net\/lee\/about\/resume\/\">You can find my online resume here<\/a>.
